Abstract

1322449 Hand coating apparatus DAIMLER-BENZ AG 14 Dec 1971 [15 Dec 1970] 58014/71 Heading B2L [Also in Divisions Fl and F4] A hand coating apparatus for applying molten plastics material to a surface comprises a feed device 12 for rods 19 of plastics, a heater 13 for melting the plastics and an air heater 16 with a nozzle 44 which directs hot air to the point of application of the molten plastics. The feed device 12 comprises two opposed double conical feeding wheels 17, 18 the lower one of which is driven by a pawl and ratchet 24 from a trigger 26. The upper feed wheel is mounted on a pivotable bar 31 and the pressure exerted is provided by a spring 33 and adjusting screw 35. A heating element 37 surrounds the barrel portion 36 of the gun. Air entering an inlet 45 under pressure passes through a double walled heating device 16 and exits through a nozzle 44 to the point of application. In a modification (not shown) the air heating arrangement is located above and inclined towards the barrel 36 and a double heating element 37 is provided.
