Abstract

Device comprises an injection nozzle for a gas, such as air, contg. oxygen; a first convergent funnel, co-operating with the nozzle, so that the gas leaving the latter can entrain the liq. and become mixed with it; and a second convergent funnel, arranged at a higher level, so that the mixture of gas and liq. can entrain other quantities of liqs. and disperse in them. the funnels are installed inside a mixing tube which is located below the surface of a liq. e.g. raw sewage. The nozzle is screwed into a gas feed pipe and the mixing tube is supplied with two sets of openings. The current of liq. induced by the flow of air through the nozzle is sufficient to produce a good mixing effect without the need for a turbulence generator.
