Abstract

Ca(OH)2 is prepd. from raw materials and/or industrial waste, principally CaCO3 contaminated with sulphates and fluorine cpds. by introducing the materials as granules slime or dust into a (rotating) calcining furnace, calcining the material at 800-1300 degrees C with elementary carbon e.g. coke, slaking the lime and washing while grinding.
