Abstract
In the carrying out of reactions at elevated pressure and temp. in which the starting material contains both solids and liquids, (a) the material is allowed to flow through the reaction vessel (A) under the influence of a small pressure difference between the vessel and at least a first satellite vessel (B) maintained under pressure, with which it is in mass transfer relationship. (b) the vessel (B) is isolated from (A) when its capacity is used up, a second pressurised satellite vessel (C) connected in parallel with (B) then being placed in mass transfer relationship with (A) and then (B) is again brought into its original pressurised state. Specif. the pressurised satellite vessels are used for charging and discharging, and both the starting material and product are suspensions.
