Abstract

Measuring dust-liberating tendency of a granular prod., esp. an enzyme detergent which produces a dust dangerous if inhaled comprises the following : (a) a known quantity of the granules is allowed to fall freely through a reproduceable descent path inside a closed chamber while a current of air is blown through the falling granules; (b) the quantity of dust entrained in the air current is measured, e.g. by collecting the dust for weighing on a filter pad through which the air current is drawn after passing through the granules. The procedure is rapid, precise and gives reproduceable results.
