Abstract
Fuel element lattice assembly applicable to heterogeneous reactors in which regular polygonal (e.g. square or hexagonal) block fuel elements are arranged in a prismatic core configuration and provide a uniform distribution of interstitial holes (I) throughout the core for neutron flux measuring instrumentation. (I) are realised by an equi-distant lateral and longitudinal displacement of the elements relative to each other. The number and size of (I) being variable according to the block geometry and displacement dimensions.
