Abstract

Electrical lead where a lamp is connected across the plug probes or the cable conductors to indicate electrical continuity. Pref. the plug body is made of rubber with a window in which the lamp is visible. Alt. plug may have a body or cover of a transparent material, pref. PVC to enclose and reveal the lamp. Pref. the lamp housing has a split body assembled by a screw of insulating material. Pref. screws of synthetic material are used to lock the conduction probes in positions. Pref. circuit includes a short circuit fuse. Esp. for extension or inspection leads, esp. for checking electrical installations or components. Assembly is intrinsically safe, provides visible confirmation that power is available remote from the principle supply socket.
