Abstract

Polyurethane foam is prepd. by reacting a polyisocyanate with a hydroxylated cpd. in the presence of a catalyst and a blowing agent and additions, and using a polyether polyol contg. 50-70% ethylene oxide units and having the following features : (a) mean eq. mol.wt. 800-2000 per OH gp., (b) no. of pri. OH gps. 45-55% of total OH gps., (c) ratio of ethylene oxide content of prim. OH gp. 1.1-1.3 and (d) cloud pt. 30 (AFNOR T 73403), ratio of NCO/OH >=1. The foam also has low density, and good flexibility.
