Abstract

PURPOSE: To prepare the titled polyurethane foam having a dense skin layer, in a shortened curing time, by using a dihydroxy compound, etc. as a chain extender and a specific amine-based cocatalyst.
CONSTITUTION: (A) A polyether polyol having 2W3 terminal hydroxyl groups and a molecular weight of 2,000W8,000 is made to react with (B) a chain extender consisting of a dihydroxy compound (e.g. a glycol having a molecular weight of 62W200) and a polyhydroxy compound (e.g. a short chain polyether having a molecular weight of 92W620 and obtained by adding an alkylene oxide to glycerine) and (C) an organic isocyanate, in the presence of (D) a cocatalyst system comprising 1,8-diazabicyclo(5,4,0)undecene-7 or its salt and an amine catalyst and (D) an organic substance as a foaming agent. The reaction product is charged into a closed mould, and foamed to obtain the objective foam.
