Abstract

PURPOSE: To prepare a urethane foam having excellent physical properties, e.g. hardness, feeling, etc., a high initial curing rate and improved gas permeability, and demoldable in a short time, by using a primary amine (derivative) having two or more hydroxyl groups, etc. as a crosslinking agent.
CONSTITUTION: (A) An organic polyisocyanate, (B) a polyol and (C) a primary amine having two or more hydroxyl groups (pref. trimethylolaminomethane) and/or its derivative (pref. the reaction mixture of trimethylolaminomethane and a fatty acid) as at least a part of crosslinking agents, are reacted together in the presence of a blowing agent (e.g. halogenated aliphatic hydrocarbons or water) and if desired a catalyst (e.g. tertiary amine) and other assistants. The preferable amount of (C) is 0.5W10pts.wt. on the basis of 100pts.wt. of (B).
EFFECT: A hard foam having a low density, a high compressive strength and excellent curability and frame retardancy, is obtained.
