Abstract

The equipment for the cleaning, cooling and separating from sand of sand castings comprises a slightly inclined horizontal double-walled revolving cylindrical barrel, which is open at its two ends. Its inner wall is perforated and the ring chamber between the walls is connected to an overhead suction fan, whilst its outer wall is perforated near the lower end to allow sand to drop into a funnel underneath. The equipment works automatically and causes very little dust nuisance, the labour contents in its running costs is very low.
