Abstract

Purificn. is by precipitation from aqs. solns. with t-butanol pref. at 20-25 degrees C. The prodt. gives rise to less side-effects when administered as an antitumour agent. The process is simpler than known purifications using heat treatment or primary alcohol treatment. A preferred ratio is 0.3 to 0.6 vols of t-butanol to each volume of aqs. soln contg. 5-30 mg of protein/ml at 21 degrees C plus-or-minus 1 degrees C. A slow precipitation of enzyme in crystalline form is achieved.
