Abstract

Floating decking for storage tanks containing mineral oil or liquefied gas includes a heating device within the region of the immersed part of the float in the annular gap between the inner side wall of the tank and the periphery of the float. This annular gap also accommodates a scraper so that melting deposits, heated by the heating device, can be removed as the decking drops lower. The scraper is arranged below the sealing plates of the float, carrying a sealing apron for the gap.
