Abstract

Sheet consists of (a) a print coat, with a surface capable of accepting and retaining an electrostatic charge, and (b) a conductive coat of (i) an org. film-forming polymer and (ii) a monomeric quat. ammonium cpd. of formula:- (R'A-NR"(4-A))B (in which R' is a HOCH2CH2-, H2 - HCH2 or CH3CH(OH)CH2 gp.; R" is a Me or Et gp.; A is 1, 2 or 3; B is Cl, F or Br anion). These quat. ammonium cpds. are compatible with all the org. film-forming polymers tested and give high conductivity, even at low relative humidity (RH), lateral surface resistance of ca. 1 x 107 ohm. being produced at 15% RH or below.
