Abstract

Filament/fibre prodn. from filament-forming synthetic linear polyamides (I) contg. 2-15 (4-10) wt.% hydroxyalkylated polyamides (II), w.r.t. filaments/fibres, is effected by mixing a molten blend of (I) and (II) so intensely that (II) are present in finished filaments as particles with =0.1 mu dia.; filtering the molten mixt. at least once through a filter of =20 mu pore-width; opt. forming chips, and melt-spinning for =30 min. at =290 degrees C. Prods. have permanently reduced static propensity without loss in strength or dye-affinity, and are useful for woven adn knitted textiles.
