Abstract

Process involves facilitating the insertion of hides, skins of small animals, plastics, etc., into a splitting machine by a short term reduction of the optimum working speed of a band cutter. The introduction of the material to be split into the machine is carried out at a relatively low conveying speed and subsequently this speed is raised automatically to a value compatible with the characteristics of the material. After this the splitting process can run at >=2 different speeds, the smaller of which is used during the introduction of the material.
