Abstract
Glass is sepd. from a particulate mixt. contg. inorg. materials, of size 0.074-0.60 mm, by submitting the mixt. to froth-flotation with >=1 amine collector reagent, resulting in a floating fraction contg. the glass and a glass-free inorg. residue fraction. The process is used in the treatment of waste, e.g. municipal waste, to recover valuable products. The waste may contain e.g. ferromagnetic and non-magnetic metals, concrete and bricks, as well as glass.
