Abstract

A partially stabilised zirconia body consists of ZrO2 and 2-5 wt % of total of CaO. Its structure comprises a solid soln. of ZrO2 in CaZr4O9 with primary monoclinic zirconia grains randomly dispersed at the cubic grain boundaries, and an extremely fine ppte. of zirconia in monoclinic form dispersed intergranularly throughout the cubic grains.
