Abstract
Process for mfr of light metal pistons with a bottom combustion chamber comprises starting with a rough shape which has a hole (I) constituting the combustion chamber which is radially diminished by a machining allowance (II). The area at the edge of (I) is refined by a charged beam heat, and two or more parallel welds are produced by remelting using a beam whose charge vibrates perpendicularly to its direction in a circle or ellipse. The final combustion chamber dimensions are produced by subsequently eliminating (II).
