Abstract

Novel title cpds. of formula: (where R = alkyl or together with the N atom forms a heterocyclic ring e.g. piperidino, morpholino; X=halo) are prepd. by reacting 11-methoxy-raubasinic acid zwitterion with a substd. aminoethane halide in an inert atmosphere in an organic solvent contg. an acid acceptor (pref. an alkali metal carbonate esp. K2CO3). The organic solvent is pref. an anhydrous alkanol, esp. isopropanol. The cpds. are the therapeutically active.
