Abstract

Formers carrying treated hose (e.g. stockings) are supplied to carriages of a conveyor or a loading station and are conveyed serially through (a) a removing zone where they are pivoted to a horizontal position and the treated hose removed; (b) a supply zone where they are pivoted back to vertical and untreated hose is introduced onto the formers, and (c) an unloading zone where the formers are removed and fed to a treatment (e.g. dyeing fixing) appts. The carriages may be driven along rails by an endless drive chain, and may have a pivoted clamp assembly for retaining the formers and pivoting them between vertical and horizontal. The appts. provides a continuous process.
