Abstract

Dusting of normally strongly dusting, solid, finely divided material with a particle size 40 pref. 130 Tyler meshes per cm is prevented by (a) mixing the solid, finely divided material with 0.1-20%wt. PTFE with a particle size of 0.5-1000 mu, and a liquid processing auxiliary, (b) removing the liquid processing auxiliary, and (c) recovering a solid finely divided material in non-dusting from, in which practically no strongly dusting solid material can be detected in the non-resting state. Esp. useful for treating pigments and toxic metal oxides, such as Be oxide and Se oxide. Dusting is controlled without the need for expensive dust collectors.
