Abstract
Synergistic mixture of a halocyanacetamide having formula: (in which X1 is Br (pref.) or Cl, X2 is H, Br or Cl; and R is H or CH3) and a halide salt, such as ammonium or alkali(ne earth) metal bromide or iodide is highly effective against bacteria, fungi and algae, esp. in industrial washing or cooling waters, swimming pools, effluents, cutting oil emulsions, and on solid surfaces such as walls, tanks, machinery, etc.
