1392043 Inhibiting corrosion CIBA-GEIGY AG 26 June 1972 [26 June 1971] 30063/71 Heading C7E Corrosion of metal, e.g. steel in contact with an aqueous system is inhibited by adding to the system a compound:- where R<SP>1</SP> = straight-chain C 1 -C 5 alkyl, a C 3 -C 5 alkenyl wherein the double bond is not adjacent the N atom, tolyl, benzyl, cyclohexyl, or a watersoluble salt thereof. R<SP>1</SP> is preferably Me, Et, n-Pr, Bu, allyl, n-pentyl or cyclohexyl; the amount of compound in the system is not more than 200 p.p.m., e.g. 5-50 p.p.m.
