Abstract

Polyesters are prepd. by polymerising a monomer of formula (I) in an inert gas stream in the absence of a catalyst. (where R is H, or R'-CO-; and R' is C1-3 alkyl, phenyl or substd. phenyl). Used in fibres, films and mouldings. The polyesters have an excellent colour as a result of the absence of a catalyst and excellent electrical properties.
