Abstract

Diffusion transfer process image receiving layer on a polyolefine, pref. polyethylene, support which has an interlayer of a cellulose ester between the polyethylene and the receiving layer. Pref. the cellulose ester has 40% acetyl tps. and is cellulose ester has 40% acetyl gps. and is cellulose triacetate, the layer may also contain an optical brightening agent. There may also be an acid layer (polyacrylic acid), retarding layer (gelatine etc), and another interlayer of gelatine or cellulose nitrate. The receiving layer pref. contains gelatine or polyvinyl alcohol, Pd ions, a dye mordant, and a silver halide layer. The polyethylene has pref. been electronically treated and is over baryta paper; the polyethylene may be pigmented. Improved abrasion resistance and adherence result.
