Abstract

An anti adhesive layer of PTFE is affixed to the surface of a silicate type material, esp. glass on a previously prepared intermediate layer, which is rough and porous. The intermediate layer may consist of metals, metal oxides, a silicate material or a combination of these. It may also consist of a modified surface of the glass brough about by sand blasting or etching. The process improves the adhesion of non-stick layers on glass cooking utensils.
