F-Contg. chewing-gum in which is not >1.5 mg. of F is present in each unit dose, and is present as a fluoride, fluosilicate, fluorocorticosteroid or fluorophosphate. For prevention of dental caries by supplying F for direct contact with, and absorption by, the teeth, and for absorption into the blood stream and subsequent transfer to the teeth. prefd. sources of F are Na, K, NH4, Zr and Sn fluorides, Na or Mg fluosilicates, fluorohydrocortisone and Na, Ca or Sn fluorophosphates.
