Abstract

Sleeve for elongated metal charges used for blowing-up barbed-wire entanglements allows of an assembly of charges to be connected together in the field in a rapid reliable and non-complicated manner. The new sleeve is provided with abutment and locking means so that there is no risk of accidental sepn. of the assembled charges. The tubular metallic body of the charge contains a solid explosive, such as hexogene with a tetryl igniter, for firing the charge in an internal cavity. The connecting sleeve consists of a tubular metallic body with a restriction extending inside the sleeve. The latter has four circular orifices placed at 90 degree to each other around the periphery. These serve as passages for the ends of elastic tongues which pass inside the sleeve and act as locking devices, the tongues prevent any rearwards return. The sleeve are easily manufactured at a low cost.
