Abstract

Temperature sensitive and/or easily caked materials esp. plastics moulding powders, are micromilled and sifted in a single machine with two independent stages. The main milling rotor with its milling plates is at the bottom of the machine and coaxially mounted with it but independently driven is the sifter rotor with conically tapered impeller vanes. Around it is a partition wall dividing the chamber into two annular zones and a shaped top cover funnels the heavier i.e. larger partcles, back for remilling whilst the ligher particles pass out through a central outlet port at the top. Overheating of the particles is prevented by the automatic recycling system for coarse grains.
