Abstract
Screens consist of a chassis of the usual type, fitted with feet. The surfaces on which the cheese is deposited, pref. made of wire gauze, are fixed to the chassis in such a way that the screen can be used either for moulding or as a treatment and reversing screen. The feet are arranged so that a stacking height H, i.e. a spacing between the bearing surfaces, is obtd., which corresponds to the height of fresh cheeses. So that the screen can also be used with cheeses that are already hardened, having a lower height h, it carries a lower lining or framework on its lower face at a distance of (H-h); the lower side of the framework can thus serve as a depositing surface for the cheeses when the screen is turned over. Inserted spacers are provided to keep the two surfaces in position. The framework suitably reduces the useful spacing distance in a stack of screens, so that the cheeses cannot be deformed by sliding or wedging when the screens are turned over.
