Abstract

Drying of textile material which has been subjected to treatment with an organic solvent, e.g. tetrachloroethylene, by means of a stream of air, which is heated and cooled in a closed circuit and carries away the solvent vapours from the treatment equipment, with the improvement that initially the material is raised to and maintained at a temp. below, equal to or above the b.pt. of the solvent by means of a stream of hot air, so that the solvent vapour is carried away for condensation simultaneously with, but independently of, the air stream, which, after reaching a specified temp. and/or after the elapse of a specific time, is cooled or cooled and reheated.
