Polymerisation for plastic film covering a support such as a wood panel has u.v. lamps for treating the film the support being passed below the lamps, while the film is maintained at a temp. which is a function of the plastic material composn. by a flow of air circulating above the film. Several jets of air are blown perpendicular or practically perpendicular to the film covering all the surface of the film, and after contacting the film, the air evacuated at least partly around the lamps to cool them.
