Abstract

Vortex suppressor for the cooling fluid feed to a nuclear reactor pressure vessel having at least one inlet nozzle and one outlet nozzle attached to the wall through which the outlet also passes, has at least one fixed deflector plate near each cooling liquid melt nozzle deflecting the liquid along its whole periphery as it enters the annular space between the vessel wall and an internal structure.
