Continous treatment of phosphate minerals containing up to 30% P2O5, up to 35 % CaO, 60% SiO2, 15% Al2O3, iron and titanium oxides, alkaline and alkaline earth metals and 2-3% Mo, V, Ni, Co, Cu, Nb rare earths Th and U, comprising nitric acid extraction, decantation and filtration of insolubles (mainly SiO2, TiO2). extraction of metals e.g. liquid- liquid extraction of uranium is effected by evaporation, dehydration and calcining at 600 degrees C. the nitric acid is recycled.
