Abstract
A rigid tubular reinforcement in at least two parts of glass fibres previously impregnated with polymerised thermosetting resin, is surrounded with narrow bands of glass fibres so as to join the two parts together, the assembly is placed in a mould to act as a core leaving an annular space, thermosetting resin is introduced under pressure, the mould is placed in an oven to polymerise the resin and the joint is then removed from the mould. The thermosetting resin may be a polyester or epoxide resin. The glass fibre bonding may be wound around the two parts of the joint. A thin walled, homogeneous, rigid reinforced tube joint with a high resistance to internal pressure results.
