Abstract
Horizontally rotating annular chassis for heavy mixer/converter vessels are supported at their periphery by rollers moving in fixed bearings at floor level. Chassis supports vessel by means of squared bosses projecting from a central horizontal circumferential ring around vessel, which fits into opening centrally placed between annular chassis ring and attached to it by thin walled plates allowing rapid dissipation of heat deriving from vessel. Thermal expansion of vessel shell is relieved as lateral and radial movements of support bosses occurs freely.
