An electrically non-conductive paper, for use in electric cables, consists of a porous fibrous film e.g. of glass, asbestos, polyester, polyacrylonitrile, fibres, impregnated with an organic polymer comprising 5-70 wt. % high m.wt. polymer, e.g. polycarbonate, polyphenylene oxide, polysulphone, polyester, the polymer being applied 3-dimensionally to the film and then calendered.
