Abstract
Improving the activity (up to 20%) of a calcined, freshly prepd. catalyst (contg. cupric and chromic oxides supported on alumina) by contacting it with a current of hot gas contng. oxygen and water vapour (esp. automobile exhaust gases). The catalyst is useful for reducing oxides of nitrogen, esp. in exhaust gases of automobiles.
