Abstract

Raking device is used in continuous galvanising baths for the galvanising of sheet and articles made from sheet in which the article to be coated passes transversely through the bath below the surface. As it leaves the bath it passes through the rake whose shape corresponds to that of the article or may be slightly larger depending on the thickness of the Zn coating required. The rake removes excess Zn from the surface and smoothes it out so that an even layer of Zn is formed. If a tube it is circular in shape is used, it is mounted in a holder of heat resisting material made of an W/Mo alloy to which molten Zn does not adhere.
