Abstract
A textile or fibrous sheet which can be electrically heated consists of natural or synthetic polymer fibres or filaments chemically metallised to a weight of 0.3 - 40% of that of the fibres and which may be mixed with untreated fibres, and may be formed by standard textile methods so that the conducting fibres are uniformly distributed in three dimensions. The structure does not suffer from the disadvantages of incorporating separate brittle conducting elements which cannot be fabricated by textile methods.
