Abstract

875,870. Fibrous boards. LIPPKE, P. April 21, 1959 [April 23, 1958], No. 13555/59. Class 96. A high-density board is produced by forming a fibrous web on a Fourdrinier or cylinder wire and passing it between at least one set of rolls, across which an alternating voltage is applied, at a point where the fibrous content is greater than 50% of the total weight. The heat generated renders the fibres pliable and assists the removal of water. Other ordinary rolls may also be used. Additional heat may be applied to the current-carrying rollers to produce a smooth surface to the web, which may contain resin. Specification 774,227 is referred to.
