Abstract

Measured quantities of non-volatile material e.g. textile finishing agent, dye or resin and a volatile liquid (pref. liq. NH3) are mixed, the proportions being constant, by introducing the liquid into an insulated vessel, and lowering the temp. of the vessel and its liquid by volatilisation of a fraction of the liquid, and with the aid of a cooling agent, while continuing to introduce liquid into vessel. After the required temp. is attained, the non-volatile material is added to the vessel. Introduction of liquid into the vessel is continued until level of the volatile liquid in the vessel reaches desired quantity, and according to the amount of liquid which has volatilised, a supplement of liquid is added to the vessel.
