Abstract
The initial crystals are added to only a part of the solution or allowed to form therein, and this part of the solution is homogeneously mixed and brought to at least saturation-point before being fed into a crystalliser. The remainder of the saturated solution is fed further upstream into the crystalliser to join the first part of the solution. The crystalliser is maintained at least at saturation point long enough for the crystals to continue to grow under optimal conditions.
