Abstract

Motive liquid and work films are pumped via separate channels from a central reservoir. Motive fluid, pref. hot water, is fed to a plurality of nozzle jets debouching to a diffuser cone acting as a supply of high potential low kinetic energy liquid for a secondary nozzle section where work fluid is entrained to a diffuser section, the work fluid attaining the kinetic energy of the motive liquid. The mixture is separated in a collector reservoir, the work fluid having established a high pressure corresponding to its prior kinetic energy in the diffuser. Specif. used in sea water desalination processes and for concentration of solns. in the chemical and food industries.
