Abstract

The plastics material is applied in the form of a liquid or powder which is then annealed or melted. The tube is charged electrostatically and guided by a coaxial powder feed tube. The plastics material powder is charged into the feed tube by a contact screw having an electrostatic charge of opposing signs. The powder is moved radially in the direction of the feed tube outlet and is projected towards the inner wall of the tube being treated by the combined effects by centrifugal force, acceleration and electrostatic attraction. The layers of powder is then melted by induction heating.
