Abstract

Porous screen or filter is of fabric of filaments of at least 2 organic polymers which have different m.p.'s. The filaments are self-bound together at their crossing points. Preferably, the filaments are multicomponent, with a polycarproamide matrix in which is dispersed fibrils of polyethylene terephthalate. The polymers can be chosen from polyolefins, polyamides, polyesters, polysulphones, polyphenylene oxides and polycarbonates. The m.p's differ by at least 10 degrees C.
