Abstract

Sealing device applies to self-propelled projectiles fired from a gun; the expansible segment is forced into a groove in the power supplier by the action of a nut on a conical bearing. This causes the segment to take its place in the groove of the power supplier while a portion remains to bear on the heel of the convergent part of the jet. An additional joint may be provided. The opening of the expansible segment leads to the sealing of the base of the chamber which is under pressure with respect to the envelope.
