Abstract

The yarn is supplied to e.g. a knitting machine firstly by a guide on an arm, pivotal in a horizontal plane, which draws off a predetermined length from the bobbin, at a tension sufficient to prevent knotting of the yarn, and secondly by a thread guide on an arm pivotal in a vertical plane to which the drawn length is supplied pref. by a pair of driven rollers, and which supplies the drawn length of yarn to the machine under substantially zero tension. The rollers supply the drawn length to the second guide as the first guide returns to its starting position.
