Abstract

A tubular body has a fluid circulation jacket and a detachable end section for protecting the end of the thermocouple immersed in the metal bath. The detachable section is a central tube extended by a refractory sheat closed at the free end. An outer casing is attached to the central tube. A protective refractory cement lining is poured into the free space between the central tube and the outer casing. This permits the closed end of the refractory sheath to emerge.
